They’re essentially the same experience on both the 3DS and the New 3DS. Tsujimoto-san: One of the key features of the Wii U version was online multiplayer, and this time we have been able to implement online multiplayer on the 3DS so you can play local matches when you’re out and about or when you have a Wi-Fi connection you can play online, so we felt that the 3DS version was complete as it was with this feature set. Fujioka also mentions another one where the Felyne can take stamina from monsters to give it to the player.
According to Fujioka, Serlegios has quite the sturdy legs, and will use them in ways we’ve yet to see from other monsters.įinally, at 4:49, Fujioka and Tsujimoto show off some of the new Felyne actions, such as the trick where your little buddy can launch you up on top of monsters. While Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate introduces new sub-species, the main focus has been on the new flagship monster, Serlegios. The new story will take place in Dondruma Town, the place that was originally featured as the online gathering area for players back in Monster Hunter 2 for PlayStation 2. This time around, its story will revolve around the “Lead Hunters”-a group of Hunters who take on special requests that aren’t given to your average hunter. These elite Hunters consist of members with specialized knowledge and excel at specific techniques. Meanwhile, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate adds High-Rank to the Village Quests, and the Gore Magala saga will be done with. Monster Hunter 4’s single-player Village Quests only went up to 6-star Low Rank quests, which featured the flagship monster, Gore Magala, at the center of the story. Moving along, the two note that the high-difficulty “G-Rank” is being added to the multiplayer guild quests in 4 Ultimate, as the original Monster Hunter 4 only went up to High Rank. The video above is the first in an ongoing series that will talk about all the new things that we’ll see in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. In this first video, the two developers start out by explaining that those with save data from Monster Hunter 4 will be able to carry over most of their stuff to Ultimate.
